CHR Series - Stainless steel condense recovery tank

Standing design, high quality AISI304 stainless steel tank, pickled and passivated inside and out. Ideal for storing high temperature condensate from hot water systems. The condensate is mixed with the technical water in the tank rather than being wasted and can be used for other useful purposes.

CHR condensate tanks are particularly useful for different types of boilers, but some types are more useful than others, such as:

  1. Industrial steam boilers: In industrial settings, steam boilers produce large amounts of condensate. Collecting and reusing this condensate can significantly reduce water and energy consumption, as well as improve operational safety.
  2. Biomass boilers: These boilers can also benefit from condensate collection tanks, especially if they use condensing systems to improve energy efficiency.

These CHR-type condensate collection tanks are critical, for example, for the efficient operation of steam boilers. Here is a quick overview of how they are used:

  1. Condensate collection: Condensate produced during the steam boiler heating process is collected in these special tanks. These tanks must necessarily be made of AISI 304 or 316 stainless steel, as condensates have more or less acidic composition.
  2. Condensate recovery and return: The collected condensate is then returned to the boiler feedwater tank. This process can be carried out by steam-driven electric or mechanical booster pumps.
  3. Level control: It is essential to monitor the level of condensate in the tank to ensure optimal operation. The top inspection flange is used for this very reason. Upon request, some systems include automatic level control.
  4. Heat recovery: Upon request, CHR tanks can be equipped with heat recovery systems, which allow condensate heat to be used to pre-heat feed water, thus improving the energy efficiency of the system.
  5. Maintenance: It is important to keep the tanks and pumps in good condition to avoid operational problems.

The use of CHR condensate collection tanks offers several significant advantages for the operation of steam boilers:

  1. Energy efficiency: By recovering heat from condensate, the energy consumption required to heat feed water is reduced, improving the overall efficiency of the system.
  2. Water saving: Recovered condensate can be reused, reducing the amount of fresh water needed to run the boiler.
  3. Reduced operating costs: By recovering heat and saving water, significant savings in fuel and water costs can be achieved.
  4. Improved safety: By maintaining constant control over condensate level and water quality, the risk of boiler damage and malfunction is reduced.
  5. Lower environmental impact: By reducing energy and water consumption, you help reduce the environmental impact of the system.
  6. Extended boiler life: A well-maintained and efficient system reduces boiler wear and tear, prolonging boiler life and reducing the need for extraordinary maintenance.
