09 - Heating element with 180 mm flange, 4.5–12 kW power
Complete heating element set for mounting on a flange with a diameter of 180 mm. The heating element with thermostat is used exclusively in enamelled water heaters for heating water for domestic use. In water heaters where the cathode is protected against corrosion by a magnesium or titanium anode, the heating element shall be partially insulated from the tank wall by a cable with a resistor. As a result, the electrochemical potential difference between the copper elements and the carbon steel heating element in the water-filled tank is partially equalised. This has a great effect on the durability of the heating element and the magnesium anode. The operating temperature range of the heating element is between 25 and 70°C (± 5°C). The heater is equipped with a built-in temperature limiter to protect the heater from overheating (activation temperature of the STB temperature limiter is 98°C (±8°C)). The heater is designed to operate at pressures up to 10 bar (1 MPa).
In the case of water heating systems in which the glycol (propylene- and ethylene glycol) dilution does not exceed 10%, the electrical heating element can be used, with the use of an inhibitor additive.
